Sakura Hime DONE D:D:D:D:D

Hey there guys, it's done :D Here are the WIP-gallery links:

Oh, and for the props for the skit:
I know details are missing and I changed it a bit, but this is not going to be judged so any one who has a problem can just shut up and go sit in a corner. Maybe the purple ribbon will be added. If I have time and find any suitable, k?

Gwen's top, and no step further with it >>;
Then, there is a gallery post about my Sakura progress. This is the most detailed thing ever I'll post because I have to do it for DCM and this recording of steps is a pain in my a**.
Here is the Link to my Wordpressgallerypost. I mean the progress gallery post.

Progress before vacation, Gwendolyn

so~ I probably won't be writing a report an Animagic here, since I've written one here, albeit in german.
Anyway, I've been working on my only new Connichi cosplay: Gwendolyn.
Right now the only part missing is the corset/top. I won't take pictures of anything else but skirt, since the wig was bought off in 2008 and isn't up-to-date quality, so I don't want to damage it more before the convention, same goes for feathers that go frizzy lightning fast.
The spear was made back in 2008 and is still the only weapon I've ever been proud of >>' I just suck. I need to cosplay Zidane next year so that I have an excuse to finish the Mage Mashers.
The ring was bought.... I don't remember but seems like a while ago, you see this is one of those costumes I've been planning to do quite a while so I collected stuff/fabric for it.
By the way, here is my Otometwin costume page on Animexx. You'll find pictures of the end product there ;D

Cosday was kind of short and not really satisfying, but well, I was there only on Sunday. After this I however decided that Animagic is just simply more worth to me to go than Cosday. The latter isn't bad, but I just can't help but still like Animagic. I hope they'll solve the problems with trash/walls soon QOQ' I just had this much more fun there... And they had Daijoubu >D That alone is redeeming point enough for a fangirl like me. I just wish they could invite a cool music act. I mean Connichi had OLIVIA last year and they have May'n this year, darn I wish I had a Connichi Saturday ticket QOQ' SHERYL-SAMAAAAAAAAAA~
3 years ago Animagic had Kitade Nana for guest, that was awesome.
Apropos, you guys probably noticed I registred my hompage at Cosblog, wow I'm in Top100 O___O" I guess I'vee have to update my homepage before I leave...

By the way, mom was hiccuping so she just couldn't hold the camera straight >>" And I didn't notice it didn't lay straight in the back, but oh well, you generally see what it looks like.... this skirt makes me look like a giant OO"

Aniwest 2011 report

Hey guys! I should have written one long long long ago.
In the meantime I've finished Hozuki and now am working on stuff for my twin... but I wanna start working on Gwen! Or Sayaka! QoQ"""
Anyway, here it comes.

Well, first of all the weather was nice... Not saying much, but as for location albeit small it is very nice and the surrounding area is perfect for cosplay shooting, especially the river. It is a very very small convention, so small that knowing that some years ago it was 3 days long instead of one makes me want to cry. The people are very nice though, they have some good catering, the anime cinema had some very good choices of recent animes, even though I never watch anime at convention, I took a peek. Games room, well, standard stuff? I guess. The main room/hall, had some stores represended, offers to play go and draw things. There was an art contest and an anime quiz as far as I know.
Then there was my concert. Well, the bad thing was, that I had a migraine by that point of time, blame the weather. I hope it went well, I still don't the videos.
One point of critique was that they let music run throughout the entire day. Usually not a bad thing, but when there is a singing act afterwards that actually happens to have songs in program that correspond to the ones run before...well...
I've also met some really nice people with really great costumes ^^ In and out of itself it was a fun day, even though my friends skipped out on me as Mai again.
Otherwise, I wish that Aniwest can get more congoers next year Q___Q I'm not that famous/great enough to get more visitors to them!

apron missing

The apron is still missing, lalala~
I didn't get to start on the wig, the beads I bought ended up being a size too small.
So, I started a bit on the apron, but I haven't much of an idea how to make it work. Anyway, it looks actually good when put together, I did not sew through the fold, but I don't really feel like, it all is hidden by the obi.

Otome Youkai Obi+Bibbon

Finally I'm done with this X___X' The ribbon is heavy, it is constructed out of 7 different parts fixed together by hand. Otherwise that in this picture it looks uneven I'm pretty content I guess. Maybe I'll destroy some of my white socks later today~
Otherwise I'll start working on the wig. At least the pony for today.
P.S. I now see that I did manage to mirror-image the upper part, but I can't fix it any more.

Menma is done

Yup, I finished Menma. I don't have any pictures with make-up+wig, but I have Madeleine wearing the dress. I'm not entirely sure about the frills around the sleeve part, but oh well. I am also working on the obi for Hozuki. Its fabric pulled over fleece. What I am currently wondering about though is how I dot he peachy-pink part above the 'belt'. As well as how the heck I'm going to bind the white apron...? ANY ideas, guys? Cause my brain keeps hurting when I try to think of the implications of how it is drawn and how the kimono is actually worn.
I still need to redo the fold though, but I want to record a song today, so we'll see.

Menma progress

...please ignore the shining dark purple panties...
This is how far I've gotten with my Menma cosplay. I'll finally be able to sew it through today... if I'll be able to tell where which frill part is at the bottom. As you know I do not put needles in my costumes, I pre-sew roughly by hand... which is a pain to remove later on, but whatever XD
Anyway, I posted this just because Kumo wanted to see it >D

yo~ I though I should write about how my Nipponcon went, since I never did it. Actually despite being small and having a huge deficit in helpers it was pretty nice. I might complain while doing something stressful, but I always look back at such things, even exams, with a smile in the end.

The picture to the left was taken by Rose ( when I was helping out for the cosplay contest, since there was enough stress with other things and no one had time for it. The worst part was after getting some other people to be judges with me, we found out that we had only two participants, so I went to chase for some. In the end it was fun. My favourite was the GUMI cosplayer who did a dance to Matryoshka so perfectly that I had goosebumps *w* Girl, you deserved to be one of the winners. I think the 3 of us gave her the max points in performance part. By the way, the other two judges were really amazing Balthier and Fran cosplayers! I forgot to take a picture though UU'
I also liked the location~
My performance was.... well.... without high pitches ~___~" and I was already so tired after running around for cosplay contest and it was pretty hot and damp I was barely moving on the stage ^^' I intended to give a performance full of energy not a half-dead one... lol, oh well.
I'm still waiting for the videos to arrive, but if I'm going to upload anything of that disaster(if I'm allowed to) then it's going to be "I wish..." and "Cutey Honey" they sound well enough even though I lost my high pitch part of voice for being ill.
What made me very happy through the entire convention were all the people who complemented my Mami costume *___* I was so happy that I stressed with my mom all over it~
I wasn't there to watch DCM since I was so upset after my performance, I got the cam from Maz and went to a quiet corner and watched it, I really wanted to know how badly I messed up. Well, except for the already mentioned part it wasn't half that bad. I calmed down a little. You know, it sucks that you lose your voice at a convention that actually invited and paid your train tickets Q___Q'

I hope I didn't annoy the cafe maids that much with always barging in and making myself tea ^^'

I think that's it.
